On Saturday, October 8th, ten of our older players in our program had the once in a lifetime experience of being ball kids at the arena for the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks. The players form our program entered the gym 4 hours before tip-off to rebound, pass, and assist the players during their pre-game warm up. Then, during the game, our athletes mopped the floors, handed out towels, and picked up shooting shirts and pants from the players.
Being up close and personal with the athletes was an experience the kids all said they will never forget; Leen Shabsogh proclaimed “This is the best day of my life!!” Throughout the night, our players had the chance to meet NBA legends, high five the current superstars, and even were given shooting shirts from the staff of the NBA teams.
Our players represented the NBA Basketball School beautifully, being respectful on the floor and with the staff, working hard, and doing it all with big smiles on their faces…every kid selected by the NBA was well deserving and made us all proud! It was truly a magical evening for all involved.
