The NBA’s basketball school in Dubai is set to begin our best year yet in 2023. With 375 players currently participating and over 150 on the waiting list to enter the school; there is no question the excitement around the NBA’s program in Dubai is at an all-time high. 2023 will bring continued improvement to the already robust program.
The backbone of our program lies in our never-ending focus on player development. Our coaches and staff spend the vast majority of their time focusing on providing the most advanced teaching concepts available to our players. We are truly dedicated to also providing a fun and positive atmosphere for them to participate and develop in. The constant yelling and berating of players is simply not the NBA way – development can and should be energizing and fun! 2023 will also bring a continued focus on the character development part of our program, with players taking part in daily teaching regarding behavior and attitude development.
Our In-House League, which features 9 Boys and Girls Divisions and well over 300 participants, will blast off again in January. Teams are created in a draft style format and games occur weekly – all in a well organized and professional fashion. Players receive full NBA style uniforms – and our Term 2 league features an All-Star weekend.
Our Elite level teams will again be participating again top local competiion, participating in the Dubai Open League and the Federation League. Our teams also participate on a regular basis in special competitions against local and visiting opponents. Many of the Top players in our program have also been invited to attend the NBA Elite Training Camp in Paris from January 17-18, a part of the NBA’s Paris Game featuring the Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons.
The NBA School also currently features the UAE’s biggest girls only basketball program, with over 100 girls participating on girl’s only teams. A powerful part of our program, the girls are literally the trailblazers of basketball development in Dubai. Incredible!
All-Star and MVP Level players will also begin training in 2023 for our upcoming United States Exposure trip. Teams from the NBA School will travel to Los Angeles in July to not only complete in the NCAA Live Period tournaments, but also to spend some time at Disneyland and the famous beaches of Southern California.
