On Wednesday, October 5th, ten of our elite level boys and ten of our elite level girls were selected to participate in the Gatorade Skills Challenge at the NBA District. The top two boys and the top two girls that participated were then selected to compete at half time of both the Thursday night and Saturday night games at Etihad Arena. Three out of the four spots were filled with our athletes!
Unbeknownst to us, Isiah Thomas came to watch the event and then had a special Q & A with our players. He was so humble, kind, and interactive with each of our players and he even joked around and posed for fun pictures with our athletes! Our players made such an impact on the legend, that he posted about his time with our players on his own personal instagram account. Many of our players asked thoughtful questions and walked away gaining some knowledge from one of the best point guards to ever play the game!
